This dataset is derived from BenchmarkYYC and contains annual, aggregated building energy and emissions data categorized by primary property type. All energy and greenhouse gas emission metrics are calculated by ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.

All cells containing zeros signify that zero is the calculated value for that cell. All blank cells represent data points that are "not available" because they do not exist or cannot be calculated.”

The energy and emissions data fields that are collected are subject to change each reporting year.

This dataset is for garbage bin waste from the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) sector. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is used to categorize ICI businesses and organizations into sub-sectors for ease of data collection and reporting. The NAICS sub-sectors included in this study are: Accommodation and Food Services (NAICS code 72), Retail Trade (44-45), Manufacturing (31-33), Health Care and Social Assistance (62), and Public Administration (91). All businesses and organizations included in the study were customers of The City’s Commercial Collections service, except for one privately-serviced customer in the Accommodation and Food Services sub-sector that was added to provide better sector representation. A total of 115 samples are included in the dataset: 30 in Accommodation and Food Services, 35 in Retail Trade, 17 in Manufacturing, 25 in Health Care and Social Assistance, and 8 in Public Administration. The weight per cent for each sub-sector is the pooled average of samples collected in the four seasons of 2019.

Waste Composition studies are periodically conducted by Waste and Recycling Services to help assess the performance of diversion and education programs and inform improvements and new program design.

The Impervious Surface - 2010 layer contains polygon features generated from the 2010 Digital Aerial Survey mapping line work. The Impervious Surface layer features represent the various impervious surface types found within The City of Calgary. These features are classified by surface type and description based on the classification and specifications used in the Digital Aerial Survey Program. Additional higher level general surface type classification and referencing to the Alberta Township System (ATS) has been applied to each impervious surface layer feature. The SDOH are the range of interacting social and economic conditions that influence people’s health and well-being. It will help the City examine where inequities exist in different areas. Information is available for 113 Community Service Areas (CSAs) across Calgary. The CSAs were created by combining two adjacent Census Tracts to reach a population of around 10,000. The CSAs are numbered from 1 to 113, and are displayed on the map.

These inundation maps show whether a property is at risk for various sized river floods. The size of flood shown on this map has a 1/35 or a 2.9% chance of occurring in any year.
The three distinct types of inundation shown on the maps are:
o Inundation - Area flooded overland due to riverbank overtopping.
o Isolated - Low lying areas that will not be wet from riverbank overtopping, but may experience groundwater seepage or stormwater backup.
o Protected - Area protected by a permanent flood barrier.
The flood areas shown are based on Alberta Environment and Parks most recent (2020) inundation maps. There is uncertainty inherent in predicting the effects of flood events, and this uncertainty increases for floods with less than a 1% chance of occurrence in any year. Any use of this data must recognizing the uncertainty with regards to the exact location and extent of flooding.

The geospatial information included in the Primary Transportation Network (PTN) map is intended for visualization at a citywide scale. The map provides both direct and conceptual-level support for many of the policies defined throughout the Municipal Development Plan (MDP).

The MDP and the Calgary Transportation Plan (CTP) include the PTN map.

The Forward Sortation Area Boundary File depicts the boundaries of forward sortation areas (FSAs) derived from postal codes captured from federal census questionnaires. This is based on census dissemination areas. The file is periodically updated, following the federal census which is currently mandated every 5 years (2011, 2016, 2021...).
