Public Health Inspectors operate under the Alberta Public Health Act to ensure compliance with the province's Food Regulation. Under the Food Regulation, restaurant inspections occur prior to the opening of a new facility, every four to six months thereafter or more often if non-compliance with the regulation has been identified. Consumer complaints are also investigated, and an inspection may be conducted under special circumstances, such as a food recall.

The Alberta Lobbyist Registry is an online registration system which lobbyists use to register their lobbying activities in Alberta in compliance with the Alberta Lobbyists Act. All registrations are searchable and viewable by the public free of charge, at any time.

The City of Calgary is testing the viability of dockless, free-standing, bicycle share through a two-year pilot. Set to run until 2020, the Bike Share pilot will allow The City to explore new ways of providing flexible, affordable and accessible mobility options.
