Data is provided monthly by the Calgary Police Service. This data is considered cumulative as late-reported incidents are often received well after an offence has occurred. Therefore, crime counts are subject to change as they are updated.
Crime count is based on the most serious violation (MSV) per incident. Violence: These figures include all violent crime offences as defined by the Centre for Canadian Justice Statistics Universal Crime Reporting (UCR) rules. Domestic violence is excluded. Break and Enter: Residential B&E includes both House and ‘Other’ structure break and enters due to the predominantly residential nature of this type of break in (e.g. detached garages, sheds). B&Es incidents include attempts.

The population, occupied dwelling count, and person per unit calculation of Calgary communities since 1968.

These data are collected from different sources and may be based on community boundaries that do not align perfectly with current boundaries. Data from 1968-1977 and 2016-present reflect community boundaries in those years. Data from 1978-2015 are based on the community boundaries in 2016. Where community boundaries have changed substantially over time, this is captured in the "notes" column. Population and dwelling unit totals do not include "Residual Sub Areas", so they may differ slightly from the totals published in official Civic Census records.

This is Statistics Canada collected census data for 2016. The data refers only to the population in private households. Residents of collective dwellings (dwellings of a commercial, institutional or communal nature) are excluded. Calgary geographic boundaries are from the municipal 2017 Census by Community.

This dataset describes proposed speed limits on Collector and Residential roads as per the new default speed limit bylaw within the City of Calgary that takes effect May 31, 2021.
