The geospatial information included in the Primary Transportation Network (PTN) map is intended for visualization at a citywide scale. The map provides both direct and conceptual-level support for many of the policies defined throughout the Municipal Development Plan (MDP).

The MDP and the Calgary Transportation Plan (CTP) include the PTN map.

Tree Canopy contains polygons outlining the extent of tree cover for all land within the City of Calgary. The tree canopy was derived by Remote Sensing software using City of Calgary Orthophotos and Lidar. The resulting data was then quality controlled and edited using various photogrammetric and processing tools.

The Regional Transportation Model (RTM) is a computer simulation of the city and surrounding region. This file contains the road network assumptions for the 2015 Scenario from the 2015 CTP/MDP Scenario Series. This series is a time series of future forecasts that are used in transportation planning analysis. The series contains five horizons from 2015 to 2076 and includes roads classified as collector and above and does not include local roads. his data is a representation, not an exact replica, of the road network and is intended to represent the road network that Calgary Region residents may experience provided the anticipated changes in infrastructure and land use occur. The impervious surface layer contains polygon features generated from Digital Aerial Survey mapping line work. The layer features represent the various impervious surface types found within The City of Calgary. These features are classified by surface type and description based on the classification and specifications used in the Digital Aerial Survey Program.
